Can I be referred on the NHS if I see a GP privately?

Answer: Yes if you are entitled to NHS services/facilities, you can be referred on NHS for admissions, X-rays or blood tests whether you see a GP privately or on NHS services. However only private referral for further care is possible for overseas clients. We will liaise with the secondary care providers and negotiate a good cost effective package for you if this is the case.

Is there an annual fee to pay?

Answer: No, the system works on fee for service basis and you are only charge for consultations, referrals and blood tests as appropriate. However if you are seen via one of our Insurance cover schemes, you would have been informed the extent of your cover. Please check this carefully as not all policies will provide for a full cover.

Can I receive my medication from the practice on NHS?

Answer: We only provide prescriptions, which can be obtained privately. However some GP may convert this to NHS scripts, you will need to check with your GP. If you are an oversea client, you will only be entitled to a private script. You will not be exempt from paying for private scripts even if you have NHS exemption.

  Are private prescriptions very expensive?

Answer: Usually not, majority of medications are cheaper than prescription charge but some are expensive. We do not routinely supply medications.

  What about quality of treatment?

Answer: All Doctors in UK including specialist are now required to undergo regular yearly appraisal and professional personal development which will be linked with revalidation process. This ensures that doctors are up date and continue to be fit to practice in their respective specialty.

What is the waiting time for treatment/consultation?

Answer: Consultation with us can be arranged to fit your requirement and within 24 hours to couples of days depending on the individual circumstance. We also provide weekend consultations.
Referrals to specialist can usually be arranged within couples of days to 1 week and we provide post specialist review as appropriate.
